We are an active as a voice in Enfield on behalf of all people from the Horn of Africa, working with council and borough wide agencies to promote awareness of the issues faced by refugees and economic migrants to the UK. We provide a trusted source of support to people who have suffered trauma or abuse and are attempting to make a new life in the UK.
Since its creation we work to alleviate the poverty and advance the welfare of people in Enfield who have come from the Horn of Africa – Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti and Sudan.
We do this through providing comprehensive support, training, Education and advice to both adults and children.
This includes – welfare, immigration and benefits advice; language translation; employment training; functional skills training; supplementary education. We are also a point of contact for community issues, and work with Enfield Safer Neighborhoods team and Enfield council to provide mediation in situations of domestic abuse, anti social behavior and forced marriages.
Our volunteers serve by working with children and families, offenders, ex-offenders, victims, or through fundraising, donations, prayers.
